ACRO Resident Committee Application

The ACRO Resident Committee is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2022 academic years. Participation on the ACRO Resident committee is an exciting way to become actively involved in the radiation oncology community, as well as gain experience and exposure to a national specialty organization. The ACRO Resident Committee currently sponsors an array of resident scholarships, curates educational resources, and sponsors webinars throughout the academic year. The committee spearheads the Resident Development Symposium during each ACRO Annual Meeting, featuring “Cases with the Experts”, panel discussions and Q&A, and Speed Networking Between Residents and Teachers (SBRT). The ACRO mentorship program coordinates matching attending mentors and resident/ student mentees for in-person meetings at various annual conferences throughout the year. Participation will require a commitment of two years, and applicants must be current PGY-2 or PGY-3 residents at the time of the application deadline. Members will individually organize specific subcommittees, and participate in monthly committee conference calls to coordinate ongoing ACRO projects. Members are encouraged to advocate their own specific sub-committee goals. Committee members are also required to make every effort to attend the ACRO annual conference each year they serve on the committee (travel and accommodations are subsidized).

Applications will be reviewed and brief telephone interviews offered to select candidates.

We are accepting three residents for a two-year term, during the academic years 2020-2022.

  • Eligibility and Requirements:

    • Applicants must be Resident Members of ACRO and in good standing at a US residency program
    • Applicants must be current PGY-2 or PGY-3 residents (at the application deadline).
    • All submissions must include the following:
      1. Application Form (This form)
      2. Applicant’s Curriculum Vitae
      3. Program Director Acknowledgement Form
      4. A single-page statement regarding why you are interested in serving on the ACRO committee, including a proposal for potential ACRO Resident Committee projects to enhance the resident training experience.
    • Submissions are due April 13, 2020 by 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time.
    • Submissions will be assessed and scholarships will be awarded by members of the ACRO Resident Committee with input from the Board of Chancellors.
